Lady Bird Johnson believed that beauty, especially in the environment, improves the mental health of society. In looking to make our community more inviting, more environmentally resilient, while having an impact on our collective health our cities should look at planting more flowers. Along roads, in vacant lots, and in our public lands – planting more flowers promotes pollinator health and slows stormwater.
